And changes to small little daily habits start to creep in your life. Because we have experienced how beautiful and healing nature could be, it makes us want to do more to protect what is precious.

Maldives. Oh, Maldives. The gateway to paradise. The piece of jewel that God accidentally dropped on Earth. Cruising in the Indian Ocean endlessly for a week, within the embrace of the ocean, you have tons of time on hand to kill after dives. So we've thought up of some fun things to do to make life onboard equally interesting, or even more interesting.

Every diver and non-diver alike have heard of Maldives. And would definitely want to go to Maldives. Maldives, over the years, has become extremely developed, with a lot of well-operated liveaboard and diving resorts, and they continue to spring up like mushrooms after the rain.

She is the one with sun-kissed (or sunburnt) skin, possibly with visible tan lines. She most probably has a mop of flyaway hair that is sun-bleached. She embraces the casual and out-of-bed look and really brings it to the next level sometimes. You know it when you see it.

Jacques Cousteau, the Godfather of Scuba Diving (and my idol), described Sipadan as “an untouched piece of art.” Also rated as one of the “Top Ten Dive Destinations in the World”, Sipadan is a much-raved-about dive destination in Southeast Asia that many scuba diving enthusiasts have on their list of must-visit dive destinations within this lifetime.

The bigger environment is one that we cannot control. The ecotourism industry needs to do a lot more and ultimately be regulated for continuous sustainability. As an individual, however, we can make individual decisions that can be a collective force of change. The ecosystem depends on each one of us as much as the dive operators.
